I feel like a lot has happened since my last blog on Dino’s update. Dino has now completed his very first show!!!

We took a trip to Greenlands Equestrian Center to do some Showjumping as now it’s winter we never get a chance to jump with the fields being so wet. We hadn’t jumping in about a month or more but felt it was the right time as his flatwork has come on so much. We only jumped little classes cause I had no idea what he’d even do in an indoor arena never mind over the jumps!

Our first class was 35cm cross poles. We had a bit of a hesitation at the first jump as the timing equipment was more scary than the jump😂 (this resulted in 4 faults) but after this he trotter round the whole course like he’d done it one hundred times. Despite the faults we got a first place which was a bit of a dummy prize but I felt he deserved it anyway.

The second class was 45cm which again he flew round! The round was a bit more polished compared to the first class. He even managed to pick up canter between some of the jumps. He got a clear round which meant we got ourselves in our first jump of together which he jumped amazing in! Bagging himself another first🎉

I can’t believe how well he took everything especially as he’s never been away from home on three years. He jumped the best he’s ever jumped even though it wasn’t the highest he’s ever jumped his approach and landing was so much better with no rushing like he usually does! I can’t wait to get him to another show and try some bigger classes with him!
