Recently I’ve really been loving the range from Equilibrium Products. I’ve used a few of their products in the past and really loved them and after Dino came in with a very small cut on his front leg I decided to get him some turn out chaps to prevent any other small injuries.

Hardy chaps have been designed to protect your horses legs whilst turned out as well as keeping them dry and clean. They can go on both the front and hind legs so all round protection is given.

My Experience…

I found the chaps really easy to fit and put into the horses leg. They are shaped to fit the horses leg which I think helps with securing them on. I really like the amount of coverage the chaps give as they protect from just below the knee right to the hoof. This was great for Dino as he was turned out in over reach boots previous to buying these chaps, and now I no longer need to uses over reach boots.

After he was booted up I turned him out as usual from about 9.30am till 5pm. He came in with both the boots still on and they hadn’t slipped down at all! His legs where clean (there wasn’t much mud anyway with the ground being frozen). I have since turned him out in them everyday since buying them. You can seen in the photos from when it was muddy and wet that they did keep his legs clean and dry!

For many horses owners these chaps will be a life saver for you especially during the winter. They are effective at keeping your horses legs clean which is brilliant if you compete. They are also fab for owners with horse who suffer from conditions such as mud fever. I was really impressed with the chaps as they really do work well. They don’t slip or come undone and do everything they promised they would.
